What decides eligibility for mutual divorce in India?
For most couples, a mutual consent divorce needs four things: the right law for your marriage, about a year of marriage, at least a year of living separately, and both spouses agreeing to end the marriage. Christians are asked for two years of separation. Settling alimony, custody and property helps, but a lawyer can help you get there.
